Classes are 90 minutes long and are taught the 1st & 3rd Sundays of each month with the exception of holidays.
These classes are open to Vendors and the General Public.
Classes are limited to a maximum of 6 participants per session to allow for maximum interaction, and they will be held in the conference room at The Market Place.

This course will cover the basics of your computer including the use and terminology of Web Browsers, E-Mail, Word Processing, and Menu Items. Participants are encouraged to bring along a laptop to enjoy a helpful “hands-on” experience. Questions are welcome!

Marketing 101 (1:30 – 3:00)
This course will cover basic marketing principles directed at small business owners including integrating sales and specials into one’s storefront (in person & online); how an event can improve sales; the free things a small business can do to advertise; and how Give Aways can earn paying customers. Social Media 101: Blogging, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube (4:00 – 5:30)
This course will cover the basics of integrating Social Media into one’s small business presence including how to blog effectively; and how to use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube to gain exposure and clientele. Questions are welcome!

This course will cover the 5 things you can do to improve exposure for your small business including planning an event and using Social Media to publicize it; Creating and maintaining an e-mail list with happy recipients; Recognizing the intangibles of Returns on Investments (ROI); Evaluating your in person and online presence; and Integrating change without losing money. Shawn is a retired college professor who has over 10 years of classroom experience. Prior to retiring from teaching to open her own businesses, she taught on the campuses of UC Davis, CSU Sacramento, and each of the main Los Rios Community College locations.
